This wedding day was so lovely!! Melissa + Austin met at work, hit it off, became best friends, and are now husband and wife. The two married at the Orchard Event Center in Azel, TX on June 18th, 2016. It was a HOT & humid day, but it was SO fun, beautiful, and such a good day all around. Melissa’s wedding details were timeless, elegant, and romantic. The couple married outside overlooking a pond with horses and cattle grazing nearby. The couple has a lot of close friends, and had many a part of their wedding party. I loved the soft romantic hue’s with the girls dresses, and Melissa’s wedding dress was to DIE for!! The lace sleeves were an additional piece that she wore for the ceremony and turned her dress into a strapless dress for the reception. I LOVED the way she could transition her look so easily. After the ceremony and the couple had a bite to eat, they let me take them out for a few minutes to a river and open field towards the entrance of the venue, and the lighting was PERFECTION. It was a great time for the bride + groom to catch a breather before greeting guests and dancing the night away. We took a walk and snapped photos as the light wrapped around them like magic. These “just married” portraits are some of my favorite of the day. The couple is at ease, their bellies are full, they are excited to dance, and equally appreciate the moment to just be together & get some pretty lovely pictures out of it. It’s the best lighting of the day, which lighting is EVERYTHING, and it’s a great time all together. The couple re-entered their reception without missing a beat and had a blast dancing the night away. It was a lovely day and I had such a fun time capturing it all!! Congratulations to the newlyweds!!

Positively, there are many variables you have to consider about your heartiness. So the next point is where can you find information that is reliable. Alexis + Joel married on May 29th, more about 2016 in Lubbock, this TX. Alexis & Joel are true gems. From the first time I met these two, cure I fell in love with them and their love story. These two are so tender hearted, and they compliment each other so beautifully and gracefully. Alexis is a creative at heart. She is talented with music and worked so hard creating the beautiful details and signs for her wedding day. Joel is quite the carpenter and is so talented when working with his hands. He (and Alexis) hand crafted all of the wooden benches that seated family and friends for the ceremony. He built many tables for the wedding day, and even helped build the building that ended up (unexpectedly) housing the reception. He was so proud of all that he built, and he very well should be. It was all beautiful and together the couple put their talents to work to create a beautiful day to celebrate their love.
I FELL IN LOVE with the way Alexis + Joel wanted to approach their wedding day. The ceremony took place inside a barn on the couple’s family friend’s property. They worked on the inside of the barn with their family friends to get it all wedding ready. It turned into many weekends/evenings spent out on the Shipp’s and Green’s property… that created fun memories for the families as they prepared for the wedding day. On the day of, Alexis relaxed and got ready with some of her friends + family inside the BEAUTIFUL home of Mr. & Mrs. Shipp. Across the row of pine trees, Joel anxiously waited and got ready over at the Green’s residence with some meaningful men in his life. The green’s residence was where the reception would take place. Tables set up surrounding a string lit dance floor on the carpet of grass overlooked the pool. Everything was in it’s place.
The couple decided to opt out of having any wedding party, and wanted a small ceremony with their closest family and friends. This created for a very relaxed atmosphere and a really sweet time for all involved. Alexis had a surprise for Joel… she wrote and recorded a song that she would walk down the isle to. The guests were all seated, the flower girls + ring bearers made their way down the isle. Joel so ready to see his bride… gazing down the isle waiting for her to come in his view. Unfortunately, the music didn’t play, but I felt as though a heavenly music, a sweet un-deniable presence filled the moment & although something was technically “missing”- there was nothing in lack. It was a glorious moment. Heavenly and precious.
The ceremony was spirit-filled and full of meaning. The couple had their fathers – biological and spiritual – take part in the ceremony. Standing alongside them, praying blessing over them, and taking communion with them. It was a beautiful time, and Joel could not take his eyes off of his bride. Alexis, full of grace and beauty simply glowed. Full of peace, confidence, and assurance in this commitment. These unions are the unions that bind my hear to what I do. Getting to witness moments and ceremony’s like this… there’s nothing like it!
After the ceremony, unexpectedly the worst thunderstorm this year roared its way into Lubbock, TX. We saw the dirt clouds coming so family shuffled over to the reception to help tear down all that was set up outside as I quickly took pictures with the bride + groom. Although the storm caused some chaos, the couple never lost their joy of the fact that they were officially “husband and wife”. It was so refreshing, and made the evening enjoyable (although it could have gone the other way quickly). The thunder rolled, and the rain poured down. The couple enjoyed delicious appetizers from their amazing caterer’s inside the Green’s home while majority of their guests were huddled inside the amazing garage that Joel and Jonathan had JUST built two weeks earlier. The guests ate, drank, and enjoyed live music. The family and friends that were inside the Green’s house enjoyed conversation and ate + drank as well. Once there was a break in the rain, everyone made their way over to the garage and the couple was introduced into the party!!! They danced, they ate cake, and they were given special blessings and toasts by the brides father, the couple’s spiritual father’s, and their officiant. It was a fun celebration, and truly a magical day.
To me, it was all symbolic… in life there WILL be troubles. The Lord tells us that very clearly. We will not bypass them. Storms will come… however, when the storms come, if we remain focused on the bride groom… on choosing love.. we WILL celebrate and have joy. We will come out of the storm. We will have a place of refuge. We will dine at the kings table… eat, drink, and be merry. These two, I believe, will be able to confidently & victoriously go through any storm that comes their way. I believe they will stay focused on their heavenly father, and never be too proud to seek out Godly counsel from their “Fathers” and family+friends. I believe that their love is deep, it is real, and it is something that causes the heaven’s to cheer and the depths of hell to quiver. Alexis + Joel, you guys.. are gems. Thank you for the opportunity to photograph this beautiful day in your lives, and for the privilege to work with you both. Thank you for who you are individually and as a couple. Keep loving, keep creating, and cheers to MANY years of life in love together!!! Blessings to you!

Meagan + Micah tied the knot at Walnut Tree Weddings in Olton, Texas on June 4th, 2016. These two met in college at ACU in Abilene, TX and quickly became best friends. This wedding day was so relaxed, sweet, and full of so much pride & joy from the couple, their family, and friends. Micah’s father is a Chaplain in the Navy and commenced the ceremony. It was a bit tear jerking… and always is when a proud father is giving his blessing & using His God given and earthly authority to bring two in marriage through a wedding ceremony. One of my favorite things that they did during the ceremony was Micah + Meagan each wrote a letter that they placed in a basket with a bottle of wine. The purpose, is when things get rough, when hope is low, when they aren’t sure where to look, they can come together and commune over bread and wine & read their letters filled with words of love, hope, purpose, and commitment to one another. I think this is so neat, and so necessary. A beautiful way to support your marriage from the very beginning. Everything about this day was so sweet, and such a blessing to be a part of. Walnut Tree is beautiful as always, and the couple and their families ate and danced the evening away. At the end of the evening, the parents sent off the newlyweds with flower leis to kickoff their adventure to Hawaii! Congratulations Meagan + Micah!! Hope you two had a heavenly honeymoon in paradise!!
